Rules

  • All students currently enrolled in a two-year college in Tennessee who have not yet received         an A.S. degree or higher are eligible to compete.  A student may enter only one category.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded at each level as follows:   First Place - $75, Second Place - $50,    Third Place - $30.  Certificates will be awarded to the top ten students at each level.  Math
    software or calculators may be substituted for some cash prizes.

Levels of Competition

  • Developmental Algebra - All students who are now in or who have been enrolled in Developmental Math,  but who have not yet been enrolled in a college level math class (other than statistics)..
  • Precalculus - All students who are now in or have been enrolled in any college level math class (other than statistics) below the calculus level, but who have not yet been enrolled a calculus course in college.  This exam will include approximately 7 trigonometry problems.
  • Calculus A - All students who are now in or have been enrolled in a first semester college calculus course,  but who have not yet been enrolled in a second semester college Calculus course.
  • Calculus B - All two-year college students who have not yet received an A.A./A.S. or higher degree.
  • Statistics - All students who are now in or have been enrolled in a first semester college level statistics    course, but who have not yet been enrolled in a second semester college level statistics course.
